The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to simplify the medical visa process for international patients. The agreement was formalised at GDRFA headquarters, with Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, and Dr Alawi Sheikh Ali, Director General of DHA, signing on behalf of their respective entities.
The goal is straightforward: international patients travelling to Dubai for treatment should not have to wrestle with administrative hurdles. From visa application through to post-treatment recovery, the two entities will now work together to deliver a connected, seamless experience.

The MoU brings several concrete improvements to how medical visas are processed and managed in Dubai:
