DUBAI — Meraas, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has announced the awarding of construction contracts totaling Dh2.4 billion for the next phases of its flagship residential developments: The Acres and The Acres Estates. The investment comes in response to the sustained surge in demand for premium, large-scale villa communities within the Emirate.
The combined projects are set to deliver 557 luxury villas, significantly bolstering Dubai’s pipeline of high-end residential real estate.
Strategic Infrastructure and Contract Allocation
The development responsibilities have been strategically divided between two primary contractors to ensure specialized execution:
- United Engineering Construction (UNEC): Tasked with the development of The Acres, which encompasses 371 villas featuring three- to five-bedroom configurations. This contract also includes the essential community infrastructure, such as road networks, utilities, and communal amenities.
- GCC Contracting: Appointed to lead construction at The Acres Estates. This more exclusive enclave will consist of 186 expansive residences, offering five- to seven-bedroom layouts designed for the ultra-premium segment.
Community Vision: Nature-Centric Living
Central to the project's design philosophy is an emphasis on "integrated, community-led living." The Acres is anchored by the Halo Loop Park, a sprawling landscaped green space designed to foster connectivity and environmental wellness.
The Acres Estates elevates this concept further, featuring:
- Larger residential plots and bespoke architectural designs.
- Exclusive landscaped waterfront areas.
- Custom-engineered swimmable lagoons for recreational use.
"This award reflects both the strength of demand for premium villa communities in Dubai and our continued investment in meeting that demand with quality and distinction," stated Khalid Al Malik, CEO of Dubai Holding Real Estate.
Connectivity and Economic Outlook
Located within the Dubailand district, the development benefits from strategic logistical positioning. The site offers immediate access to major arterial routes, including Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street and Emirates Road.
Proximity to key leisure landmarks—such as Global Village, the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club, and the Hamdan Sports Complex—is expected to enhance the long-term value proposition for both domestic residents and international investors.
Commitment to Quality
Leadership from both contracting firms emphasized a rigorous approach to the project lifecycle. Eng. Abdul Halim Muwahid, Chairman of UNEC, noted a focus on "efficient execution and the highest construction standards," while Bipin Chandran, CEO of GCC Contracting, highlighted the "precision and technical expertise" required for a high-specification residential development of this caliber.
